Moving Around Your Wedding? Keep Registry Deliveries on Track

October 30, 2026

The short answer

Choose a delivery address you can reliably use during your move, with the recipient's permission if it is not your home. Update each retailer separately. Changing a wedding website does not establish that a registry or an order already placed has the new address.

Make an address map

Write down the registries you use, the shipping address saved with each one and the date you expect to leave or arrive. Keep this list private. A family member's home can be an option only if they agree to receive and store packages. Consider space, security and how you will collect bulky items before choosing it.

Separate new orders from existing orders

An edited registry profile may guide future purchases without changing a shipment already in progress. Read the retailer's current process and contact support about specific orders. Crate & Barrel's registry FAQ illustrates that registry editing and purchase updates are provider-managed processes; it does not establish what every retailer does. Do not assume postal forwarding covers a particular carrier or package. Check the carrier or retailer directly.

Tell guests only what they need

Try: "We are moving around the wedding, so please use the delivery details shown on the current registry rather than an older address. If you have already placed an order, please ask the retailer about any change." Avoid posting a home address in a public announcement. If someone asks privately, confirm which address is appropriate for their delivery date.

Consider the kind of gift you want

If storage and moving are the main problem, you may prefer fewer physical items. The Forever Fund is our option for contributions toward your future through your own connected brokerage account. It is a different giving route, not a parcel-forwarding service. Check its current details and decide whether it fits your plans. Keep a separate record of any physical presents and thank the people who send them.

Frequently asked questions

Does changing my website update every shipping address?

No. Review each registry and any existing order separately.

Can we use a relative's address?

Ask first and agree on storage and collection. Do not assume they can receive everything.
