Everything a guest needs to know about giving through The Forever Fund: amounts, payment methods, messages and receipts, and what happens after a gift is sent.
Can a guest include a personal message?
Yes. Guests can include a personal message with a contribution.
Yes. A message can explain the meaning behind the gift and helps the recipient with thank-you notes. Guests should avoid including private financial, medical, account, or identity information in a message, especially if the registry offers a public-display option.
A registry may let guests choose an investment-themed goal, but the recipient controls actual trading in the brokerage account.
Guests may be able to select a stock, ETF, portfolio theme, or allocation shown by the registry. Treat that selection as the guest's gift designation unless the brokerage separately confirms an executed purchase. The Forever Fund should not imply that a securities trade occurred merely because a guest clicked an investment label.
Guests can choose from the amounts offered on the registry or enter a custom amount when that option is enabled.
The checkout is designed to let guests select an amount that works for them. A registry may also display suggested goals or allocations to make the choice easier. The final charged amount and applicable fee treatment should be visible before the guest confirms payment.
Yes. The registry and checkout are designed to work on current mobile devices.
Yes. Guests can open the shared link in a supported mobile browser, review the registry, enter a message, and complete checkout. Wallet payment buttons appear only when the device, browser, and payment configuration support them.
No guest account is required for the standard gift checkout described on the site.
Guests can use the registry link and complete the contribution flow without opening their own Forever Fund profile. The checkout may still request a name, email, billing information, and any verification required by the payment processor for security and receipts.
Open the registry link, choose an amount, enter the requested details and message, and complete the secure checkout.
A guest follows the recipient's official registry link, reviews the recipient and event details, chooses a gift amount or goal, enters the required contact information, and pays through checkout. Review the recipient name and amount before confirming because completed personal gifts may be final.
Recheck the card and billing details, try an available alternative method, or contact the card issuer before contacting support.
A payment can fail because of incorrect billing details, insufficient funds, issuer fraud controls, browser problems, or a payment-processing error. Do not repeatedly submit the same payment without checking whether a charge is pending. If the issue continues, contact support with the registry link, time, amount, and error message, but never send a full card number by email.
A successful checkout should provide a confirmation and payment receipt to the email entered by the guest.
After payment, the guest should see an on-screen confirmation and receive an emailed receipt or confirmation from the payment flow. If neither arrives, check spam, verify the card activity, and contact support before trying again so a duplicate gift is not created.
