How payments are processed, how your data and brokerage credentials are handled, what SIPC does and does not protect, and how The Forever Fund addresses fraud.
Are Forever Fund gifts FDIC insured?
Do not describe every Forever Fund gift as FDIC insured; coverage depends on where cash is held and the brokerage's cash-sweep arrangement.
FDIC insurance applies to eligible deposits at insured banks, not to stocks or general brokerage assets. Brokerage cash may be held as a free credit balance, in a bank-sweep program, or in another vehicle, each with different protections. Check the connected brokerage's disclosures rather than treating FDIC and SIPC as interchangeable.
Can guests see the recipient's brokerage account number?
No sensitive brokerage account or routing number should ever be visible to registry visitors.
Guests need only the official registry link and checkout. The public page should never expose a full brokerage account number, routing number, login credential, or authentication token. If sensitive information appears publicly, deactivate the page and contact support immediately.
The privacy policy says users may request access, updates, or deletion of personal information.
Submit the request through the official contact method and identify the account or registry without sending sensitive credentials. Some transaction, fraud-prevention, tax, or legal records may need to be retained even after the public page or account is removed. The response should explain what was deleted and what must remain.
The current privacy policy says The Forever Fund does not sell personal data.
The privacy policy says personal data is not sold. It also says information may be shared with payment processors, security and analytics providers, and service providers that help operate the platform. The policy should identify material provider categories and explain user choices where applicable.
The privacy policy says payment details are processed by Stripe and The Forever Fund does not store card numbers.
Guests enter payment details into the approved checkout, where the payment processor handles sensitive card data. Users should never send a full card number or security code through email, chat, a registry message, or a support form. The policy should be updated if the processor or payment architecture changes.
Verify the official domain, recipient names, event details, and secure checkout before entering payment information.
Be cautious with shortened links, urgent messages, spelling changes in the domain, requests for crypto or wire transfers, and anyone asking for a password or one-time code. If the names or event do not match the invitation, confirm with the recipient through a separate contact method before paying.
The Forever Fund uses a Stripe-powered payment flow and says it applies industry-standard security measures, but users must still follow basic account-safety practices.
Use only the official domain and the secure checkout linked from the recipient's registry. The privacy policy says card details are processed by Stripe and that The Forever Fund does not store card numbers. No online service is risk-free, so users should protect account access, verify the recipient, and report suspicious activity quickly.
What does SIPC protection mean for a Forever Fund recipient?
SIPC may protect eligible assets at a SIPC-member brokerage if the brokerage fails, but it does not protect against market losses.
SIPC protection belongs to the eligible customer account at a SIPC-member brokerage; it is not insurance offered by The Forever Fund. SIPC generally addresses missing cash or securities when a member brokerage fails, subject to limits and rules. It does not guarantee investment value, prevent losses, or necessarily cover funds still in payment transit.
What personal information does The Forever Fund collect?
The privacy policy lists contact information, payment-related details handled by the processor, event and registry information, and device or usage data.
The platform may collect names, emails, contact details, event information, registry content, device data, and usage analytics. Payment details are processed by Stripe according to the site's policy. Brokerage connection data and retention periods should be described more specifically in the next privacy-policy revision.
Secure the affected accounts, contact the relevant provider, and report the incident to Forever Fund support immediately.
Change compromised passwords at the original provider, review the brokerage and payment accounts, preserve receipts and screenshots, and contact the card issuer or brokerage when appropriate. Tell Forever Fund support which registry and action are affected without sending full credentials. If the payout destination changed unexpectedly, pause the registry until it is verified.
